What is fructose?
Fructose is a simple sugar that possesses a sweetening power approximately 30% greater than that of common sugar (saccharose). This characteristic enables a lesser quantity of it to be used to achieve the same degree of sweetness, thus reducing the calorie intake.

Fructose is the sugar that is naturally present in the majority of sugary fruit (hence its name), in honey and in some roots such as chicory. Dried figs, grapes, pears, apples and bananas are particularly rich in it.
