Crastan Instant Chicory Coffee was one of our first creations. It is a drink with a pleasant caramelised flavour, with slight bitter notes, an excellent alternative to classic coffee or barley coffee. It is naturally caffeine-free, gluten-free, low in fat, suitable for any time of the day.
What is chicory? It is a spontaneous plant, widespread also in Italy and Europe. In addition to the leaves (also used in cooking), chicory is made up of a long and tapered taproot: this is the part that is used to prepare chicory coffee. The root is dried, chopped, then toasted and finally made soluble.
